They’re good cars. Kinda boring looking. I’d drive one.

If I had to get a used appliance I might be tempted by this.

Or a Legacy 2.5GT Spec B. Or an MS6. Or an Altima SE-R. Or...okay, not a Malibu SS in a million years.

I think that they look way better than the bloated ones that came later.

Sure! They look good and ride nice. But my friend who owned one said the initial lag (throttle by wire?) from a stop drove him insane.

I liked it in Forza 4:

Can you get that hardware in the Milan’s body? Somehow I prefer that look.

I like seeing a car like that being driven like that, even if it’s just a video game

And I didn’t know the Fusion had a ceiling-attached mirror! (it’s more common in Japanese cars than American cars, and the Mazda 6 it’s based on used a windshield-mounted mirror)

Anytime a company uses the word “Sport” to denote an actual higher performance variant always gets the love in my book.

To me, the highlight of playing Forza is driving normal cars like this.

I’m not a fan of transverse V6 cars, and even if I did get another one, there are better ones than that.

That Fusion is just a cheapened and fattened up version of the Mazda 6 (and at least the 6 was available in hatchback and wagon forms, and with a manual on the V6 too). I’m not sure how sporty the Fusion Sport is, even though it’s based on the sporty 6.

Fun fact: This gen Fusion was originally supposed to get a turbo V6 AWD version for 2010 with the refresh, but they canceled it.

Also, the MKZ offers the same 3.5L V6 and shit, plus a little more luxury and prestige.

260? That warrants further investigation, might have to put that on the to buy list. How similar is the suspension setup to the Mazda 6? I had a 6 and loved it. Having the same thing with more power would be a riot.

I can’t bring myself to enjoy anything Ford does that isn’t a Mustang, diesel, 4wd, or RS badged. Too many reminders of the terrible 90s Ford sedans I grew up getting shuttled around in. I’m sure they are better now but not for me.

My Audi had that. Not only was it odd, it made things a PITA with my school parking pass.

I think the reason they did it is that the mirror vibrates more when on the windshield (as evidenced in my Subaru) than it does on the cieling, making it harder to see out of.

Honestly, I like that design better. Not only is there less vibration like you said, but also, if you need a new windshield, you don’t have to do the whole mirror re-installation thing. And the glue that gives out after a few years and the mirror falls off, you don’t have to worry about that when it’s attached to the ceiling.

All true point, I prefer it too. The parking pass thing was just a random weirdness.

Some of them are better than others.

For example, my I30 (4th gen Maxima) with the auto-dimming mirror has a really wide fat bar from the mirror to the ceiling and a rubber boot, and that is hard to stick a parking pass on because it hangs almost horizontally

but the Toyotas I had all had a thinner bar which is very easy to hang a tag from, and there was absolutely no difference. None of these were auto-dimming or otherwise had any electronics in.

The issue might be the auto-dimming mirrors and any other electrical things in the mirror that require a wider bar than a parking pass can hang on.

Yeah the Audi was auto-dimming with a compass and whatnot, and some lights in the bottom, so it had a thick mount

I have a ‘12 and I like it for what it is: a competent sedan that looks good, is reliable, and quickish with 263 ponies. Mine is FWD and while it isn’t a Porsche in the bends, it’s still fun. It’s also quicker than the AWD model as the AWD system adds a good 250+ lbs to the car and doesn’t do it any favors in the handling department either; it just makes the car thirstier and slower.

However, mine doesn’t get driven much since it’s our fourth vehicle (wife drives a ‘14 Flex, and I also have a ‘14 Focus that’s my work commuter and an ‘03 ZR2 that serves truck duty, plus a couple Italian motorcycles for toy/fun duty) so I’ll probably end up selling it eventually. It’s super clean with only 48k miles and I hate to see it just sit unused but there’s just no reason to keep it in the garage only to be driven a handful of times a month.

Negative. I’d basically be repeating all the maintenance I’e done to my car over the years, and I would like to avoid that this time around, at least for now.
